What stereotypes did you have about your study abroad destination? Were those confirmed or destroyed?
Some of the stereotypes I had about my study abroad destination pertained to the country's vocabulary. Often times I had imagined Australians possessing thick accents and enforcing words such as "g'day" or "mate". While some of these were proven true, they weren't exactly utilized to the extent in which I had imagined.
As thick Aussie accents seemed to be nonexistent, Australians' affinity for foul language revealed to be true. I found that curse words were often times exchanged intermittently as if they were a part of their everyday vocabulary. Even my professor utilized foul language on several occasions!

What do you wish you would have done differently?
If I could go back in time and recreate my semester abroad, I would have attended more residential events. Erica Underwood hosted a plethora of food nights and local outings in which residents were given the opportunity to receive free food or partake in off-campus activities. I usually shied away from most occasions due to course obligations or complete and utter exhaustion. I suppose now that I think of it, I didn't necessarily have to devote entire evenings, rather, I could have just gone to spend some time with a couple of mates.
